New Article: "Could there be a link between oral hygiene and the severity of SARS-CoV-2 infections?"

A new study from the British Dental Journal examined the connection between high bacterial load in the mouth due to poor oral hygiene and the severity of COVID-19 infection. Researchers across the health professions have found various risk factors linked to severe COVID-19 infections and resulting complications.

Poor oral hygiene is associated with diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and obesity - four conditions that are risk factors for severe COVID-19 infection. Good oral hygiene is imperative to minimizing the severity of COVID-19 infections and preventing bacterial infections during the course of this illness.
