Preceptor Recognition Breakfast and Development Day

On May 1st 2014, NYU College of Nursing Master’s program held its annual Preceptor Recognition Breakfast and Development Day – a way to show appreciation to our colleagues for their professional generosity and dedication to our graduate students. Preceptors participated in an oral health workshop, sponsored by the HRSA TOSH grant, aimed at giving them the knowledge base and clinical competencies needed to integrate oral health into their own practice and support student consideration of oral health when assessing patients across the lifespan. The event included an interprofessional panel of faculty from the Colleges of Nursing and Dentistry followed by an interactive oral health clinical competencies workshop where preceptors learned to perform an oral examination on standardized patients and simulators.
